Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Heilbronn, abbreviated as HHN) is a public university of applied sciences located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The university was founded in 1961 and traces its origins to the Heilbronn State College of Engineering. In 1971, it was officially granted university status. Today, HHN has grown into a higher education institution with approximately 8,300 students and a strong reputation in the three major fields of engineering, business, and computer science.

Four Campuses: Rooted in the Heart of German Industry

Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences has four distinct campuses. The main campus is located in Heilbronn, a city with a population of approximately 124,000. Situated between the major metropolitan areas of Stuttgart, Heidelberg, and Mannheim, Heilbronn is an important center of industry and innovation in Germany. The Bildungscampus, located in the city center, features modern teaching facilities and the iconic LIV Library, where approximately 3,300 business students study.

In addition, the university operates the Reinhold-Würth-Hochschule campus in Künzelsau and the School of Management and Sales in the picturesque medieval town of Schwäbisch Hall, where approximately 1,100 students are enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs in business administration, human resources management, and other fields. Hailbronn University of Applied Sciences is a highly international institution. It has students from approximately 100 different countries, with international students accounting for about 11% of the student body. The university has established partnerships with approximately 220 universities worldwide. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology alone maintains close ties with more than 50 partner institutions globally. The university offers several English-taught master’s programs in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Digitalization, Automotive Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, and Robotics. As a German public university of applied sciences, HHN’s degrees are rigorously accredited by authoritative bodies such as the German Accreditation Council. The university does not charge tuition; only a small administrative fee is collected each semester.
