Tubraunchweig’s campus tradition runs through the whole year. The central welcoming ceremony for freshmen held every autumn has been a tradition for 13 years-the principal delivered a speech in person, accompanied by acrobatic performances, music and scientific exhibitions. During the orientation week, all departments organize special activities for freshmen.
The school has long insisted on raising the rainbow flag during Christopher Street Day (CSD). During the welcome period, “Studying is more” information exhibition, Welcome Lounge free coffee break and international lunch exchange were also held. Academic prestige: In 2026, CHE ranked many top evaluations
In the ranking of CHE German universities in 2026/27, the economics-related majors of TU Braunschweig all got the top evaluation in the category of “Support at the start of studies”. Among them, the professional performance of Business Information Systems is particularly outstanding-students have given extremely high comments on teacher support, curriculum organization and library facilities. The undergraduate majors of economic engineering and technology-oriented management also received outstanding scores at the entrance stage. In terms of global ranking, TU Braunschweig ranks 828th (top 3.9%) in the CWUR world ranking and 47th in Germany.
Employment prospect: the salary premium in engineering field is 5%-10%
Tubraunchweig graduates are very competitive in the job market. Thanks to the strong practice-oriented teaching and deep cooperation with leading enterprises such as Volkswagen and Airbus, the starting salary of engineering graduates is 5%-10% higher than the German average. The annual salary of CSE graduates ranges from 55,000 to 95,000. About 78% of engineering doctoral graduates enter German or European head manufacturing enterprises, R&D institutions or universities to teach within 6 months after graduation. Graduates are favored by German and even global industries, and their employment rate and starting salary are in the forefront of German universities.
Sustainable Development: TUmorrow Awards and Fairtrade University Certification
Tubraunchweig integrates sustainable development into a comprehensive strategy of ecology, society and economy. The school is making a comprehensive climate protection plan, and participating in the COUNTS project of Lower Saxony universities to develop standardized carbon footprint accounting tools.
The Autumn Row Awards is the school’s annual sustainable development award. There are student contributions, graduation thesis, courses and other categories, each with a prize of 500 euros. The selection criteria are based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On May 7, 2025, the school was officially certified as “Fairtrade University”-this certification is based on the standards of fair trade product use and public promotion.
