In 2022, the Lone Star College System officially established its eighth college—LSC-Online—a fully virtual institution designed to provide maximum learning flexibility for non-traditional students. In *Newsweek*’s 2026 ranking of the nation’s top online colleges, LSC-Online stood out among numerous institutions nationwide, ranking 20th in the U.S. and 3rd in Texas. The ranking was based on a survey of 10,000 U.S. online learners and comprehensively evaluated six key dimensions: organization, support, price, reputation, success rates, and practical relevance. From fall 2022 to fall 2025, LSC-Online’s student enrollment grew by 48%, and it currently has 5,400 students. Flexible Academic Pathways and Application Information
Lone Star College offers over 200 degree and certificate programs, as well as more than 30 online degrees. International students must attend a mandatory international student orientation. F-1 international students must enroll in at least 12 credits per semester, of which at least 9 credits must be in-person courses.
